The Chicago White Sox Will Bounce Back In A Huge Way In 2010

While last season was totally horrible, the Chicago White Sox expect a lot more than what they finished with in 2009. Their division is not exactly the best in baseball and a team with this much talent should walk away with a playoff spot. Having another losing season is the last thing that should be on the fans of the Chicago White Sox.

If anyone wants to know what the driving force of the big turnaround is going to be, look no further than the late season acquisition of Jake Peavy. Spending the early part of his career in San Diego Hell, he is now on a team with a legitimate shot at going all the way. While fans only saw him for three games last season, they get the full deal this year.

Peavy managed to win 92 wins over 8 seasons with a team that was usually very bad. He carried that team for years and will now have the benefit of a solid supporting cast. If he can post 19 wins with the Padres, what can be expected of him on this team? Judging by his 3-0 record in the American League, we can expect the world!

Sometimes when a player goes to another team and out of a bad situation they get energized. That is exactly what happened to Peavy at the end of last season as he was unhittable after the trade. Fans just may want to get ready for the Cy Young presentation that may happen at the end of the year.

The talent does not stop with Peavy either. Chicago has an incredible number 2 in Buehrle, who would be the number one on many teams throughout the league. He is the direct beneficiary of Peavy coming over as he will not get to face a lower level of starter in his rotation. He many put up just as many wins as Peavy. Floyd will follow him up and should once again provide double digit wins.

Chicago is going to have a great opportunity to get hot right out of the gate. The fans need to get to the ticket office and load up the stadium as they play their first 6 games at home. The best part is that they could easily go 6-0 to start the season as they face Cleveland and Minnesota. It is a great opportunity to get two quick looks at Peavy and show him support.

2009 is over my friends and 2010 looks like it is going to bring a lot of joy in White Sox land. Two stud starters and a lineup that is going to score some runs. If I’m in Chicago, I am already in line to get tickets because this season promises to be one for the ages.
